Fallout: London had to be postponed at short notice due to the next-gen update for Fallout 4, but now the release is apparently imminent.
Fallout: London is one of the most promising modifications for a game ever. The British metropolis of London was recreated in the post-apocalypse to transport the setting of Fallout 4 there. We should have been able to experience this a long time ago, but the release of the next-gen upgrade for Fallout 4 and the associated sudden incompatibility of numerous basic mods put a stop to the makers’ plans. But now it’s finally time: London Calling!
The development team has now confirmed via social media that they have internally decided on a new release date. However, this was not revealed in the message in question. Project Lead Dean “Prilladog” Carter subsequently shared some more information via Discord and confirmed: The release is imminent.
“We – the team – have a new date, and it’s soon. Not the typical ‘SoonTM’ mod meme response soon, but really soon,” said Carter. It’s only a matter of “days/weeks” – and: “Be ready.”
This is essentially an announcement of the release date announcement, but after the unexpected indefinite postponement due to the next-gen update, this is certainly great news for fans of the mod. After all, it was unclear until now how long we would have to wait until the release of Fallout: London.
The sudden release of the next-gen upgrade and the associated consequences for the mod community caught them off guard, Carter continues. As a result, there was “absolutely no plan for the timing of the release” because several things outside of the actual project had to be revised. The mod was therefore literally in the void for quite some time – but now there is finally light at the end of the tunnel as far as the imminent release is concerned.
