Fallout Season 2: When and what will happen next in the wasteland? Everything about the continuation of the series from Amazon Prime Video

“Fallout” Season 1 started and ended on April 11, 2024 on Amazon Prime Video. While most streaming services now release event series weekly – or at least in blocks – Amazon showed all episodes in one go.

“Fallout” fans who don’t have extreme self-control will probably get through season 1 very quickly and then wait for season 2, which is at least hinted at in the finale. But does it really continue? And if so: how?

Will there be a second season of “Fallout”?

Amazon Prime Video has not yet confirmed a second season of “Fallout” – which is not surprising so soon after the start of the first season. Ultimately, the success of the series will determine its future, but the chances are already very good.

After Season 1 was filmed in New York, Utah, New Jersey and Namibia, the Amazon production will receive $25 million in tax breaks f or Season 2 – assuming “Fallout” is filmed in California from now on.

Since this amount is usually tied to a certain schedule, Amazon Prime Video would have to make a decision soon.

When does “Fallout” season 2 start?

Assuming that Amazon Prime Video confirms season 2 of “Fallout” in spring 2024, filming could start in 2024. A release on Prime Video is not expected until 2026, after all, filming the first season took a total of 8 months and then a whole year passed before the start of the series in order to complete the effects.

Since “Fallout” Season 1 didn’t have a round ending, we already know roughly where the journey in the season is going: to New Vegas! Hank MacLean is finally on his way there and is pursued by the ghoul and Lucy. What exactly will await us in New Vegas is not yet clear, but other Vault-Tec employees and perhaps the ghoul’s family probably live there.

While we definitely get to know a new side of the wasteland, Maximus finds himself in a new situation after the season 1 finale. He is considered the murderer of Moldavians and therefore a hero of the Iron Brotherhood. After pretending to be a knight in season 1, he is now likely to become one – whether he wants to or not.

Meanwhile, Maximus has finally realized that the world is complicated and that rule by the Iron Brotherhood would have its downsides. In addition, Maximus will undoubtedly want to find Lucy, but he doesn’t know where she ended up.

And then of course there’s Norm MacLean, Lucy’s brother, who after his discovery in Vault 31 seems to have no choice but to freeze himself in a cryochamber. Will he only wake up in the distant future or will he soon be awakened from cold sleep together with the Vault-Tec employees?
