They look dark and atmospheric, the images that are supposed to represent a new Battlefield game from DICE that will be released in 2023. The special feature: DICE and EA have nothing to do with these pictures, they don’t even come from a real person!

Instead, the artworks are the result of an unspecified AI that has been artistically active here. But where did they appear? Youtuber TheTacticalBrit, which specializes in Battlefield, posted the images on Twitter and wrote:
I asked an Art AI to create concept art for me for a new EA DICE Battlefield coming out in 2023.
Other users followed his example and also posted AI-generated Battlefield landscapes. What they all have in common is an oppressive battlefield atmosphere in front of an urban backdrop. Smoke is piling up, tank wrecks and soldiers can be seen in the firelight. The scenes are even a little reminiscent of the dark and devastated city maps from the Battlefield competitor World War 3.
The community is mostly enthusiastic about the creations, the well-known Battlefield influencer Westie writes, for example, “Wow, that’s kind of really cool!”, while another user directly shows his own AI Battlefield pictures:

In terms of staging, the image material should hit the nerve of many BF fans pretty much exactly, especially since BF2042 is often quite wrong in its tonality.
Which AI was that? The artworks were probably created by the mid-journey AI, which has been causing a stir with its paintings on the Internet for several weeks. For example, GameStar reports on cool and creative gaming images of the AI that invite you to guess!
But Midjourney can also be very different, and has disfigured some of our favorite video game characters so badly that it’s easily enough to make nightmares:
Super Mario & Co.
What an AI does to game heroes is just cruel
By the way, we already have the first information about the next Battlefield. DICE wants to learn important lessons for the next part from the problematic Battlefield 2042, as insider Tom Henderson reported in May 2022. One can assume that the next Battlefield game is currently in the conception phase.
Again with solo campaign: In addition, it is almost certain that Battlefield 7, in contrast to the current part, will again come up with a single-player story – DICE even hired new specialists for this.
