The developers recently presented the project called Counter-Strike: Source 2 in a video. Before that, they worked quietly for about six months to recreate CS:GO in the Source Engine 2.
However, the original code of the game was not used: the fan project recreated all gameplay systems and mechanics. According to the developers, this has the advantage that new game modes and features can be added without difficulty. The code and game will also be available to the community as an open source project.

What’s next? The development of the project is far from over. The scenes presented are a small part of the game that has been fully developed for the video, but there is still a lot of work to be done outside.
In the coming weeks, the developers plan to release another video explaining how Counter-Strike: Source 2 was developed.
