Original message:
Not all gamers were happy with the information about the announcement of FIFA 22. A free upgrade from Xbox One to Xbox Series X | S or PS4 to PS5 – if you buy the newer console in the course of the year – is only available this time with the Ultimate Edition, which costs 100 dollars. In addition, PC gamers are pissed off that they have to forego next-gen features like HyperMotion. The technology is supposed to provide a whole new experience, but is only used on PS5, Xbox Series X | S and Stadia. And now there is possibly another nuisance for PC gamers.
Apparently EA is planning a limit when activating the PC version. A corresponding notice can be found on the English-language Steam product page, although EA has not made an official announcement. What’s the matter?
The PC version of FIFA 22 is to make use of third-party DRM, so that only online activation on Origin (via a link to Steam) is necessary. Rather, it is also written there: “1 machine activation limit”. This means that FIFA 22 can only be activated and used on a single PC; If you own several PCs or, for example, a laptop for on the go, then you could only use FIFA 22 on one of the platforms. Multiple installations on various computers would be impossible – despite the same user account. Even if you just use a new motherboard in a computer, the limitation would probably lead to problems when playing the title.
There is currently no such information on the German Steam product page. So it remains to be seen whether EA really takes this step. FIFA 22 will be released on October 1st for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Switch, Stadia and PC.
