Anyone who got Final Fantasy VII Remake of their time as part of their PS Plus subscription has reason to be happy: The upgrade to the PS5 is now free.
Active members of PlayStation Plus, who also own a PlayStation 5 and got Final Fantasy VII Remake as a monthly game in March 2021, have reason to be happy. They can assert their right to the PS5 version of the title and continue their journey from December 22nd at no additional cost in next-gen graphics.
The prerequisite is of course a subscription to PlayStation Plus that is still active in order to receive the PS5 upgrade. The digital PS5 version can also be grabbed by regular buyers of the digital PS4 version of the game or the retail version for free. However, in the case of the disc version, you have to insert the disc every time you want to download and play the digital PS5 version.
All those who switch to the PS5 version of or have already switched will also receive up to 25 percent discount on the purchase of Final Fantasy VII Remake – Episode INTERmission from December 22, 2021 to January 7, 2022 as soon as they have downloaded the PS5 enhancement upgrade.
The upgrade from Square Enix has two modes on the PS5: In graphics mode, textures & Co. are preferred in 4K resolution, in performance mode the focus is on maintaining 60 fps. Otherwise there is a completely customizable photo mode, haptic feedback on the DualSense wireless controller, new levels of difficulty for the classic mode and optimized loading times.
In the mentioned DLC you can get to know Yuffie Kisaragi. With her ninja skills, she infiltrates the mysterious Shinra corporation to steal a powerful materia and thus restore her homeland to its former glory.
