While we thought we wouldn’t hear too much about Final Fantasy VII Remake after its surprise arrival on PC, Square Enix continues to run teasers and keep players in suspense.
When it’s gone, there’s still: you thought the small (and big) hands of Square Enix were busy working on Final Fantasy XVI or even Final Fantasy VII Remake Part. 2? Lost ! The editor doesn’t seem to have completely closed the brackets on the first episode and has just put a very amazing newsletter online that comes straight from the Shinra:
Integration week
In this short video, a moderator in a questionable tie informs the Midgar people about the leak of a certain “Red XIII” who allegedly escaped the Shinra lab. You know the rest. Knowing its audience of voracious gamblers, Square Enix prefers to clear its minds:
This video is part of a new campaign. It’s not about the continuation of the game or any new DLC.
Should this simply be viewed as a way to celebrate the arrival of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on the Epic Games Store? In any case, the publisher does not refrain from detailing the content of this port, which nevertheless hides its game well:
- FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission DLC;
- Exclusively from FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, le Shuricac;
- Midgar bracelet, Shinra bracelet and Don Cornéo bracelet;
- Accessories superstar belt, mako crystal and seraphic earrings;
- The Summoning Materia Carbuncle, the Chocobo Chick, and the Pampas;
- 4K and HDR compatibility with a frame rate of up to 120 fps;
- Compatibility with XInput and DirectInput standard controllers.
Red XIII is not dead
But why then persist in the escape of Red XIII, an event not directly related to the additions to the Intergrade version and its two additional chapters? The riddle remains unsolved. While we wait to learn more about what the Shinra antenna has in store for us, Let us remember what co-director Naoki Hamaguchi said in March 2020:
We felt like the moment Red XIII joined the group came very late in history. So we said to ourselves that if we make him a full-fledged character and let the players benefit from his traits and script development, we won’t have enough time.
So we figured the best way to involve her would be to make her a guest. During the adventure you will lead a trio, but Red XIII will be by your side to fight in the latter part of the story.
For those who haven’t been chasing it, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is available starting this Thursday, December 16, on the Epic Games Store and continues to be available on PS5.
