We remember: a few weeks ago Square Enix took the MMO Final Fantasy XIV from sale due to high demand. The game should be available for purchase again soon.
Final Fantasy XIV has grown in popularity, especially since the release of the last expansion, Endwalker. So much so that Square Enix had to stop selling and creating new accounts because the servers were completely overloaded. From January 25th, the game should be back in the stores and new accounts should then be possible again. At least that’s what the publisher confirmed in one new blog entry
The fact that it is now going on is because Square Enix is putting a new data center into operation, which should enable five new realms and hopefully take the pressure off the other servers. In line with this, the Home World Transfer Service will also be put back into operation, allowing players to switch from an overloaded server to one of the new ones. However, the free trial for the game remains inactive.
The availability of the servers left a lot to be desired in the last few months, since the rush was great, but the availability of new server components was rather meager. Square Enix pledges that capacity expansion will continue into 2023. In addition, there should be some announcements about new content at the end of February, as well as plans for the next expansion (Patch 7.0).
