The release of Final Fantasy XVI is still a long time coming. Recently there have been rumors that a release is already planned for the end of the year. But nothing will come of it.
Unfortunately, those who were hoping for Final Fantasy XVI to appear this year will have to be patient a little longer. The State of Play, which aired last night, revealed a stunning new trailer for Square Enix’s upcoming RPG. The release date was also narrowed down further – and that’s still a long way off.
Final Fantasy XVI will not be released until summer 2023. There were rumors beforehand that the role-playing game could appear as early as autumn or winter of this year and that Square Enix’s other major role-playing game, Forspoken, had to accept another postponement. There is obviously no truth to the rumour.
After all, the trailer reveals news about Final Fantasy XVI: Espers like Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut and Co., who only served as an incantation in the earlier parts, probably play a very central role in the story of the new offshoot.
