Resident Evil 4 Remake will break away from the original material to lean more towards horror. We see it from the beginning of the video where Leon S. Kennedy wanders through a forest before entering a house with a very gloomy basement. The cabin from the first encounter in the base game? The action is still there. Leon S. Kennedy is still throwing his legendary back kicks.
So it’s both familiar and new, a direction taken by teams looking to deviate from the 2005 version with Resident Evil 4 Remake.
This time we are developing the game with the aim of offering an exceptional level of quality, in line with what we can expect from a survival horror set in 2023, while preserving the essence of the original game. We want fans of the series to rediscover what made the game so successful, while adding new and refreshing elements to it. A desire that consists in rewriting the story while maintaining its main plot, modernizing the graphics and updating the controls to adapt them to current standards.
The RE Engine, more at home in dark scenes than ever, still works wonders here. Enough to change the atmosphere of RE4 and achieve a different look. There is also an exchange system coming to exchange gems for special items. The story trailer should definitely fuel the hype.
