It has been confirmed that alongside Alan Wake 2, Remedy has just formalized the development of Control 2, which is still supported by 505 Games who will take care of the edition.
A sequel eagerly awaited by fans as Remedy surprised 2019 with its new IP. Control was already an ambitious title, particularly in terms of wanting to create a true expanded universe, which would also include Alan Wake 2, control 2
Control 2, an even more ambitious game than the first?
As Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy points out, control 2 is currently “the biggest budget control game”, the very one that has been codenamed Heron so far. For his part, when his statementDirector Mikael Kasurinen doesn’t hesitate to present it as something completely unexpected, “a new leap into the unknown”.
With Control we jumped into the unknown. We wanted to create something new. Something different, in a world like no other. With Control 2 we dare another leap into the unknown. It will be an unexpected journey. It will take time, but the least I can say is that it’s the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on.
remedy on all fronts
For its part, 505 Games is pleased “to be able to deepen its partnership with Remedy”. I have to say that control is a minor success for the publisher as the software has sold more than 3 million copies since its release. Seeing a sequel was therefore almost obvious, but nothing has been formalized to date.
control 2 and is now being grafted onto other studio projects, including of course alan wake 2, but also a multiplayer title in the same universe. The game, currently codenamed Condor, is currently being developed by Remedy’s Vanguard team.
