- Amazon has introduced new hardware.
- These include a new edition of the Fire TV Cube and the Alexa Voice Remote Pro.
- Both products will be available in stores shortly.
The rumors have been confirmed: Amazon is updating the Fire TV Cube. The mix of smart speaker and TV stick offers a faster processor. This should offer 20 percent more computing power than the original model. In addition, the Cube 2 supports the new WLAN standard Wi-Fi 6E.
But these are by no means all innovations. As with the Echo speakers, the plastic housing is now covered with a fabric, which makes the device look more stylish. Also new is an HDMI input on the back. You can use this to connect the Fire TV Cube 2 to compatible Blu-ray players etc. and then control them with your voice.
Fire TV Cube 2: This is new
Amazon updates its Fire TV Cube. The mail order company makes these changes.
In addition, an algorithm called Super Resolution Upscaling should better upscale HD material to 4K resolution. The Fire TV Cube is delivered with the new Alexa Voice Remote Pro. This offers three advantages over the previous remote control:
- two freely assignable buttons that you can use to call up Alexa routines or apps.
- you can have Alexa look for the remote if you misplace it.
- it has a backlight. Pre-orders are now possible.
