It has become quiet around Forza Horizon 5. While the predecessor had its DLCs on the road so many months after the release, Microsoft’s and Playground’s plans for the Mexico Open World are still chugging around in some garage. But that will change soon.
We were expecting some kind of Forza announcement at Microsoft’s Xbox Showcase during Summer Game Fest 2022 anyway, and now Steam seems to have blown it. The reliable leaker Wario64 snapped along promptly, because a banner on the Forza product page has already revealed which cat Microsoft is letting out of the bag on Sunday: Forza Horizon 5 is getting a Hot Wheels DLC. So toy cars.
If this is the sole DLC announcement for Forza Horizon 5, then of course all the fans looking down the drain looking for one realistic
Hoping to expand the open world, for example in the direction of the Yucatan.
A trend continues
The fact that Forza Horizon 5 gets some fun racer DLC is now part of the tradition. Forza Horizon 4 had its surprisingly fun LEGO open world – and Forza Horizon 3 also already offered a Hot Wheels expansion. Back then, the DLC relied on wild jumps, loopings and all the other facets that make up the Hot Wheels toy.

We assume that the leak is true – unless Wario64 is a truly gifted MS Paint artist. Either way, we’ll find out what’s planned for Forza no later than Sunday evening at Microsoft’s big showcase event. By the way, hopefully also for Forza Motorsport, i.e. the semi-arcade simulation, which has been very, very quiet for a while.
