Flintlock: Dawn Siege made a brief appearance at the Xbox Showcase with a fantastic new trailer, and it was the news that A44 fans have been waiting for years: a finally, real, honest release date.
The action-RPG is set to be released on July 18, which is just over a month away.

The bigger news, however, is that a demo will be available at Steam Next Fest. The Flintlock: Dawn Siege demo will be available for download from the Steam game page later today, when the game begins at the festival’s opening.
The release date trailer is an interesting introduction to the game’s genre. We’ve long known that Flintlock has elements of Soulslikes, as well as spectacular fighting games (the moves are animated to the beat, after all). The trailer describes the game as Souls-lite, a term I don’t think I’ve seen before, referring to games that have fewer Soulslike elements than usual.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is a Game Pass release first on PC and Xbox Series X/S, but it will also be released on PS5 on the same day. On PC, you can buy it on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Two years ago, I spoke with the developer about joining Game Pass and what impact, if any, that would have on sales outside of its subscription service. A44 is part of Kepler Interactive, a developer-owned collective publishing company where studios collaborate on projects and share knowledge.
