After its release at the beginning of February, the colorful foam shooter Foamstars is now in its second season. This will be called “Groovy Disco” – and here you can find out what awaits you in March.
Square Enix has announced the second season of Foamstars for March 9, 2024. As part of “Groovy Disco”, the 4v4 party shooter will receive fresh content again, including a new character, new modes and a number of free and paid cosmetic content. You can still get Foamstars for free on PlayStation Plus until March 4th.
Season 2 from March 9th is scheduled to last until April 13th and will, above all, focus on Tim Tolle. The new Foamstar was previously hinted at as part of the “Happy FriYAY Party” event during Season 1 – and now it lands in the shooter in playable form. It can be unlocked free of charge as a reward by reaching level 31 in the Season Pass – or for a fee directly by purchasing the Premium Pass.
Missions 4 to 6 will also be added to the Foamstar missions, in which you will find out more information about the individual stories of individual characters. In mission 6 you also take part in the new boss fight “Bad Bock”.
According to official information, the season also offers the following time-limited events:
- Ranked Party: Players compete in two limited-time seasonal events to climb the ranks, either alone in the Ranked Party Lonestar or as a team in the Ranked Party Tribe-Vibe. There are seven ranks to master: Bronze Star, Silver Star, Gold Star, Platinum Star, Diamond Star, Superstar and Party Legend. If you also achieve enough ranking points, you can take the ranking tests.
- Extreme Party: Foamstars compete against each other in two very special game modes: In the “Everyone is Tim Tolle” party, every player plays as Tim Tolle, while in the Superduell party everyone competes in “1 against 1” battles.
- Happy FriYAY Party: At this weekend party there are only winners – and the opportunity to get to know the foam star of the next season.

When it comes to the Season Pass, everything stays the same: By completing missions and taking part in battles, you can level up and unlock various rewards such as skins and items. There are additional rewards in the Premium Pass; However, you have to shell out 5.99 dollars for this.
After the PS Plus promotional period, Foamstars will generally be available in the PlayStation Store from March 5th for 29.99 dollars.
