Under the ocean!
Skull and Bones was released on February 16th and didn’t necessarily convince all players. Nevertheless, Ubisoft continues to support it with regular updates. But today the French publisher is not communicating about future seasons: It announces a partnership with the largest international defense organization dedicated exclusively to ocean protection: Oceana“whose mission is to protect and restore our oceans by leading targeted strategic campaigns that deliver measurable ocean results
Oceana uses law, science, grassroots activism, advocacy and strategic communications to contribute to policy change around the world. Official press release from Ubisoft
This partnership takes the form of a charity event entitled “Waves of change“, which runs until March 31, 2024 in Skull and Bones. “Ubisoft will make donations on their behalf to support the preservation of underwater ecosystems. Ubisoft’s goal is to raise 300,000 dollars in donations by the end of the event“, explains the editor. For two weeks, all players, including those who benefit from the trial version, can take part in this event by fighting against skirmishers, headhunters and other pirate lords. “Ubisoft will support Oceana in proportion to the number of defeats inflicted on these opponents. (…) As a thank you for their commitment, participants also receive in-game rewards, the Pioneer Setadds Ubisoft. “At Ubisoft, we believe we can use the power of games to raise awareness and take action on environmental issues
Skull and SOS
The famous pirate game, announced in 2017, was not particularly well received in the specialist press. W ith an average of 60/100 on Metacritic, the app faces a significant challenge in convincing players to spend time at its company. Because yes, Skull and Bones is a service game and its survival depends on the number of users as well as their commitment.
