Harmonix is moving all musical efforts to the long-running Fortnite and will continue to promote and expand the Fortnite Festival there. Anyone who wants to play with a guitar and not a classic controller now has their first real opportunity to do so.
The company PDP, known for producing peripherals for gaming, has now officially presented the PDP Riffmaster. This is a new, wireless guitar controller that works with both the older Rock Band 4 and the current Fortnite Festival. In the future you will also be able to play the guitar in Fortnite mode without a normal controller; The starting signal for this should take place in the course of spring 2024.
The first guitar controller that is compatible with Fortnite Festival was already hinted at last year – and now it has been made highly official. The Riffmaster relies on a fairly classic guitar controller design, but without missing out on some modern innovations.
There are various buttons on the front – arranged both at the top and bottom of the fingerboard. There is also an additional thumbstick; There is also a 3.5mm audio input. According to PDP, the controller’s battery life is said to last up to 36 hours on a single full charge. The guitar also has an ambidextrous design, meaning it can be used equally by everyone.
Both the specific release date and the price of the PDP Riffmaster are currently unclear. For now, music fans should be happy to get a guitar controller for Fortnite Festival.
Harmonix, which belongs to Epic Games, recently announced that it would no longer deliver any further DLC content for Rock Band 4; In a sense, an era ended. Instead, the developer will focus entirely on the further development of Fortnite Festival in the future.
