Just before Christmas, Fortnite removed the Deku Smash ability (added as part of the My Hero Academia collaboration) for unknown reasons. It didn’t come back, and it definitely won’t. For an added fun way to kill enemies, the Blaster Hammer is also currently disabled in Fortnite.
Shockwave Hammer was introduced to the dynamic battle royale during Season 1 of Chapter 4, along with a brand new map, support for Unreal Engine 5, and more. This item can be found in chests, and can also be obtained from a few specific NPCs during matches, making traversing the map much easier.
It’s also useful for quickly destroying buildings or items, and in a pinch, can be used to hammer an opponent half way through the area while doing some damage. It’s now common for the last surviving player to fight with a hammer to their advantage, making them harder to hit. The item has a long cooldown after four uses, but it prevents it from being too powerful.
One of my first tasks every game is to find Shockwave Hammers; they’re great for escaping to safety for healing, or even annoy enemies by launching them onto Slappy Shores or Brutal Bastion every time they try to attack your squad . That said, the item is affected by a few glitches and bugs that cause it to be temporarily disabled in-game.
Due to an issue, we have temporarily disabled Shockwave Hammer in all playlists.

As it turns out, the Shockwave Hammer can be used for a variety of purposes, including farming unrealistically abundant resources, and being able to bounce infinitely when it touches water. It’s unclear when the item will return, but Fortnite says, “Our intention is to re-enable Shockwave Hammer in the next game update after this issue is resolved.”
With the Shockwave Hammer gone, it looks like I’m really going to start working on some dirt bike tricks.
