Later last week, Fortnite got a Darth Vader Chatbot where you can train your conversation with Ai-Power to use the real voice of James Earl Jones. It's not just saying a bunch of things that shouldn't be done – now leading to the SAG-AFTRA coalition filing unfair labor practice allegations.
If you weren't last week or so, Epic soon had to send a patch to the bot – which was done with the approval of the late Vader Va Jones – and soon after it was released into the wild, as players had managed to say what it should have said. You know, swearing, slandering and chatting about breasts.

Fast forward to last night, when the voice agency alliance SAG-AFTRA issued a statement about AI Vader Bot, challenging the epic, which was a thing and revealed that it had filed unfair labor practice allegations to the National Labor and Industrial Relations Commission.
“We celebrate the right of members and their estate to control the use of digital replicas and welcome the use of new technologies to allow a new generation to enjoy the enjoyment of these heritages and famous characters,” the union wrote. “The union acknowledged that Jones' property recognized that Jones' legacy had approved the robot, but we must revolve around the work and conditions we are doing around these members, including our rights around these members, including our rights around these members, including our rights around these members, and our rights around them, which are well known. Iconic rhythms and tones in video games.
“Fortnite’s signing company Llama Productions chose to replace the work of human performers with AI technology. Unfortunately, they did not provide any intention of intent, nor did they bargain with us through appropriate terms. Therefore, we have raised unfair labor practice fees for Llama Productions through NLRB.”
iGamesNews has been contacted by EPIC.
So we have to look at what happens to the alliance if there is no challenge to its plan to create AI VADER using AI. This is another chapter in the league and the efforts of many voice actors to ensure that AI is used to mimic the protection of sounds, which some believe poses an existential threat to their profession.
After all, as the League says here, having another actor provide voice lines for Fortnite Vader sound like Jones would have been another option to use Ai her. As I said, Epic and Llama do get the right permission from someone who represents the interests of AI a-Emaper actors.
