What exactly will the Colosseum update be?
The big star of the show is the new Coliseum, a free PvP DLC that you can try in-game with the update, as the Coliseum doors in Limgrave, Caelid, and Leyndell are now open. There are three modes in the PvP arenas:
- The team exam: Quasi team deathmatch, so you compete against each other in two teams. Every kill gives you points, every own death enriches the enemy team. Whoever has more points at the end wins the round.
- The individual exam: A
Free for all
. Each participant fights for himself and can respawn after death. Whoever collects the most points at the end wins. - The duel mode: In Leyndell you can throw yourself into 1v1 duels. Of course, you can also compete against friends via a password.
Incidentally, in the Caelid Coliseum you get the exclusive opportunity to summon spirit ashes in the fights. So you can piece together your gaming experience quite modularly.
Also new – and now hold on tight: There are five new hairstyles! So if you want to try a new fashion style, check back after the update.

Rumors and speculation about paid expansions for Elden Ring have persisted for months. Meanwhile, journalist Jason Schreier thinks the Game Awards could be followed by bigger announcements about Elden Ring. He believes another DLC could be revealed later this week at the Game Awards 2022:

Why is the prognosis so exciting? Schreier is one of the best-known games journalists, as he is considered to be very well connected and regularly draws attention to himself through a great deal of insider information. It remains unclear whether he already knows more about another planned addon for Elden Ring, but his comment at least makes Elden Ring fans sit up and take notice.
