Fans of the 4X round strategy game Civilization 6 can look forward to: Now that all the content of the New Frontier Pass has been published, the last major game update of the season is just around the corner.
On April 22nd, 2021, next Thursday, the time has come: In addition to numerous balance changes, the highlight of the patch will be a whole three new units – including a big fan request.

Civ 6 is finally getting trebuchets
When the April 2021 update releases next week, all civilizations will get the following brand new units:

Equipped with muskets Line infantrymen

Medieval Country servants

The highlight: a new siege weapon in the form of Trebuchets/Triböcken
According to the developers, the Tribok in particular was at the top of the wish list for many fans. This heavy siege device is considered to be the largest and most prec ise throwing weapon of the Middle Ages and is likely to be familiar to many players from other strategy games. Among other things, the Trebuchets have become indispensable in the Stronghold and Age-of-Empires series.

Civilization 6 – April Update brings three new units & fulfills fan request
Other changes in the April update
Two new cards: In addition to the units, there are also two new playing fields on which you can test them immediately. Both maps are of the True Starting Point type, which lets you start a game in real places on earth. The first card is set in the Mediterranean, nothing is known about the second – except that it is supposed to be huge.
Balance adjustments: As three brand new unit types come into play, the existing units have to be adjusted slightly to maintain the game balance. Also, some older civilizations will be changed to be in line with the new leaders and factions of the New Frontier Pass. These include Europe, China, Kanda, Georgia, the Khemer, the Mapuche and many more. The details can be found in the patch notes, which will be published shortly before the update.
The upcoming April update will be the last free content update of the current season and will be released on 22. April 2021. The day before, on April 21, 2021, there will be a developer livestream YouTube who will introduce you to all new content in detail.
