Although Cities: Skylines was released in 2015, the mix of urban development and traffic management still captivates numerous people who enjoy planning in front of the screens. That’s why it only recently appeared with the Airport
-DLC a new content pack that will even appear briefly in the Steam-Bestsellercharts made it to the top. And also a look at the current player numbers shows that the game is far from running out of steam.
If you fancy a touch of Flight Simulator, you should definitely watch the trailer:

With the next DLC, a touch of Flight Simulator is blowing through Cities Skylines
But even those who have not yet bought the new DLC can look forward to it. Because the developers have released another update – this time free for all owners of the main game
Better AI and new assets for everyone
At the top of the list of innovations: The Airplane AI has been improved so they should no longer fly in endless circles over your city and pollute the air. In addition, more passengers are now transported per flight, but this also applies to other modes of transport that serve your city.
Another improvement concerns landscaping, more specifically the placement of trees along a road. If you would like a different roadside green, you can now select the desired tree in the menu and simply click on the road in question. Palm trees instead of elms? From now on no more problem! This process is also free of charge and therefore does not burden the budget of your metropolis.
You can also see this new feature in the official gameplay video for the free update:

Thanks to the integration of 14 new landscape objects, created by the Cities Skylines modder MrHouse
, you also have even more choices for trees and other objects. But that’s not all:
You also now have the ability to assign custom vehicles to your city service buildings. This is done via a new button in the building’s info tab. This allows you to provide more visual variety in the city.
Last but not least, buying and selling land should be easier, which should save you time and, above all, nerves. So you see: Even non-owners of the new DLC suddenly have several good reasons to drop by their city again, or even to stomp a new one out of the ground.
But if you’re much more in the mood for a new building game, you could Highrise City might be something for you. The Europe studio Fourexo Entertainment not only wants to pick up Cities Skylines veterans, but also poaches in Anno areas:
Highrise City
Looks like Skylines, but is more Anno
