Anime look and turn-based battles: The new role-playing game Honkai: Star Rail should also cause a stir in the West.
Even though many of you may not have heard of it, a role-playing game from China will make headlines in 2023. Because already wait over eight million players to the release of Honkai: Star Rail – so many people have pre-registered for the new project from Genshin Impact developer miHoYo on the official website registered.

China’s biggest role-playing game hopeful is called Honkai: Star Rail
Honkai: Star Rail is the fourth installment in the Honkai series, the last installment of which was Honkai Impact 3rd released in 2016. However, the story is set in a parallel universe and requires no previous knowledge on the part of the player.

Meanwhile, miHoYo the launch date for Honkai: Star Rail announced: From April 26, 2023 the download of the game will be possible, which is emphatically different from Genshin Impact. On the one hand, there is the change of scenario: Instead of playing in a fantasy world, Honkai plays on different planets in a science fiction look, which your group of heroes travels to on board a spaceship train.
The planets are not seamlessly connected, but the individual hub levels should Open-World-Elemente and dungeons included, there will be puzzles and mazes. And of course fights where you have to use the members of your hero party tactically.
Unlike Genshin Impact, the battles are strictly turn-based. If you wish, you can also lean back in less important battles using the auto-battle function.

Thanks to a cross-save feature, you can switch seamlessly between the PC version and the mobile versions for Android and iOS; your game progress will be carried over. Implementations for PlayStation 5 and 4 will follow later.
Honkai: Star Rail relies on the players’ instinct to collect – if you want to have the coolest characters in your group, you have to earn a lot of in-game currency or use a credit card.
How is Honkai: Star Rail funded?
Basically, Honkai: Star Rail will be free to play. But as in every Free2Play game, there is also an in-game shop. The Chinese developers rely on a system very similar to that of Genshin Impact, the so-called Gacha.
This means you can use in-game currency to unlock new heroes, weapons, and costumes, with the rarest characters requiring a lot of time or real money.
