Funcom is expanding its development team to work on the studio’s untitled Dune game.
The company is looking for talent in field operations, art, design, engineering, production, marketing, and more. Here is a list of vacancies with links to apply if you need them.
The studio announced back in 2019 that it was working on an open-world multiplayer game based on the Dune universe, and it was just one of three titles for PC and consoles.
The previous Dune games were mostly real-time strategy games, like the rather excellent Dune 2. The last game released based on the series w as Frank Herbert’s Dune, a 2001 adventure game for PC and PS2.
The real-time strategy game Dune Generations, originally scheduled for release in 2001, was canceled.
Funcom’s first Dune game will be the seventh game released based on Herbert’s work, as the sixth game is currently in partnership with Shiro Games, the studio that brought you Northgard.
Titled Dune: Spice Wars, the 4X real-time strategy game will be published by Funcom and is currently in Early Access on Steam. You can see what to expect from it in the video above.
