Gearbox owner says Eli Roth to direct Borderlands movie

It looks like The Borderlands film has a director and is the actor, director and producer Erie Rose.

Rose's role in the news Frontier movie It was tweeted overnight by Gearbox Software owner Randy Pitchford.

Pitchford quickly deleted the tweet, but luckily Kotaku took a screenshot of it.

The reason it was deleted was apparently that the news had not been announced. However, Cat can't afford it now, and the story has broken since he tweeted through The Hollywood Reporter, and Pitchford put the tweet back in place.

A Borderlands film was first announced in 2015 when Lionsgate co-developed it with Arad Productions. Avi Arad and his son Ari Arad have worked in Iron Man, Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men, Works in Ghost Rider and Blade. The film was reconfirmed in production last year.
