The flagship action series Gears of War has been rather quiet in recent years, but several renowned insiders independently agree: the presentation of Gears of War 6 is now imminent!
The long wait for a new part of the Xbox action series Gears of War could soon be over – at least as far as the official presentation is concerned. Several of the gaming industry’s most reliable and renowned insiders independently agree that such a move is likely to take place in the coming months.
Accordingly, Gears of War 6 is likely to be presented for the first time this summer, even if the release will take a little longer. At least that’s what the well-known industry expert Jeff Grubb said in the new one Kinda Funny xCast to the best. He regularly has reliable sources in the gaming industry and was usually correct with his forecasts.
However, the other podcast participants also agreed that Gears 6 could potentially become a launch title for the next generation of Xbox consoles. If that really happens, then we would probably have to wait a few more years until the actual release.
Tom Warren emphasizes that Grubb is basically correct with his information. He is also considered an extremely reliable insider in the industry who took up Grubb’s statements and succinctly described them as “correct”.
In January of this year it was announced that the development studio The Coalition was ramping up work on the studio’s next game. It became public through entries on LinkedIn that a number of new developers were to be hired for this purpose, including an environment artist, a cinematic animator and a senior lighting artist. However, it was not made public at the time whether they would actually be working on a new Gears.
Previous speculation about a Gears 6 also brought an open-world approach to the new title into play. Shpheshal Nick from the Xbox Era Podcast, also a reliable source in the industry, said at the time that Gears 6 will have an “almost complete” open world and that development is already a little further along than most gamers would expect.
The last part, Gears 5, was released in 2019, almost five years ago. The most likely option for a presentation of Gears 6 would be the big Xbox Showcase in June of this year.
