The latest Sony first-party game to make the jump from PlayStation to PC is Ghost of Tsushima. The director’s cut version of the game was released on Steam and Epic Games Store overnight and was warmly welcomed by players.
The PC port doesn’t appear to have any major issues, and by most accounts, the game runs well on a variety of configurations. But what about player turnout? Well, not bad, but still below some 2022 version.

“Ghost of Tsushima” Director’s Cut is the 12th PlayStation first-party game to break away from the constraints of the console. Sony’s move to port more games to PC began with Days Gone in 2021, followed by the 2018 God of War reboot, which was released on PC in 2022. Since then, the platform holder has been steadily porting more and more games to PC. out on the computer.
Surprisingly, however, player numbers don’t always keep up with output. Aside from Helldiver 2, God of War remains Sony’s most played first-party game on Steam, with 73,529 concurrent players at launch.
Since then, several games have been released on Steam, such as Homecoming, Spider-Man Remastered, The Last of Us Part 1, Ratchet & Clank: Rift, and the Horizon game. Unsurprisingly, the game that came closest to dethroning God of War was Spider-Man Remastered, with a peak concurrent player count of 66,436.
“Tsushima” currently ranks behind “Spider-Man Remastered” and has become the third largest game (excluding “Hellstalker 2”), with the highest number of simultaneous online players at 57,934. Of all these games, Tsushima is the only one with a meaningful multiplayer component, so it should be positioned better than this.
However, Sony’s recent failure to link Hellraiser 2’s PSN accounts has made Ghost of Tsushima unavailable in more than 170 countries and regions, meaning Sony has lost a lot of interest and sales from players in these regions. The numbers could always improve over the weekend or once Sony re-releases it in more countries, but it’s bound to be frustrating for developers to see so many players missing out on what is ultimately a mostly single-player game due to lack of access. Side mode requires a PSN account.
