Ghost of Tsushima meanwhile has had quite a long and illustrious life since the 2020 release, but now the developers apparently want to devote themselves to other tasks.
Seems like Sucker Punch is slowly but surely reallocating most of Ghost of Tsushima’s developers to other tasks. Of the new patch 2.18 seems to be the last update for the game until further notice, which still included some bug fixes and optimizations.
As Sucker Punch reports on the Playstation Blog, no further patches are currently being actively worked on. We want to keep an eye on further feedback on the game in case there are still some higher priority issues, but otherwise things seem to be calming down.
After all, Ghost of Tsushima had received a whole series of updates during the two years, which also brought other features into the game, including the Legends multiplayer mode.
Maybe it’s slowly but surely starting to work on a sequel. With well over eight million copies sold, the game was very successful and some job advertisements already indicated that a sequel is not impossible. A combat designer was already being sought to play the first part, as well as an author who was familiar with feudal Japan.
