In the console area, Ghostwire: Tokyo was previously reserved exclusively for the PlayStation 5, but that will now change in the near future. The game finally has a date on the Xbox Series X/S too – and is coming to Xbox Game Pass.
With Ghostwire: Tokyo, Tango Gameworks has delivered a successful, supernatural action-adventure, but so far only on the PC and PlayStation 5. It has been known for a long time that an Xbox version will follow, but when? This question has now been finally answered.
A release date for the game on the Xbox Series X/S was announced today, and that is not far in the future. From April 12, 2023, the title will appear on the Microsoft console via publisher Bethesda Softworks – and then even directly in Xbox Game Pass. Anyone who has subscribed to this can start right away and will not have to buy the game as well. This also applies to PC via PC Game Pass.
With the Xbox release comes a new, free update for the game that will also be available on PS5 and PC: the so-called “Spider’s Thread” update. This complements all sorts of new locations in Tokyo and enriches the game with new missions and additional mysteries to be solved. The main story is supplemented by extended cutscenes, giving you a deeper look into the plot.
The free update also includes the eponymous Spider’s Thread game mode. Here you have to master 30 stages with the simple goal of getting to the end. These are chosen from over 120 hand-crafted levels. You unlock skills as you progress through the game and you can earn in-game currency that you can spend on upgrades.
