God of War: New game before announcing – but very different?

A possible new God-of-War game could possibly be very different than we all expect so far.

Again and again there are rumors about a new game of the GOD of War – and this is exactly what the Playstation State of Play, recently announced for this week. But even if a new series part is actually announced, it could be very different than we all expect so far.

In the past, speculation already suggested a possible release of a God of War in 2025, although the original story of Kratos could apparently be found in the form of a prequel story. Now insiders have their say again!

A question of a possible God-of-War announcement as part of the State of Play reacted both Tom Henderson and Jeff Grubb, who subsequently confirms the statements of Henderson via social media. Since two renowned and reliable insiders position themselves accordingly, therefore makes you take notice.

While an announcement appears possible this day, the new God of War should be significantly smaller than the last parts of the franchise. However, even more remarkable: it is apparently not a classic 3D action game, as is otherwise the case. Rather, Sony could announce a 2.5D game in the Metroidvania style-basically a completely different title than the previous series parts. The new God of War would be most likely to compare with titles like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

There are currently no further details, so it is also unclear whether this potential new God of War is being created at Sony Santa Monica itself or at a third party developer. In this regard, however, clarity is likely to predominate in the next few days. We keep you up to date!
