Phil Spencer himself recognized a few years ago that they have tried to bring back the mythical GoldenEye from Rare from Nintendo 64 many times. Also that in all of them they have ended up abandoning the idea because of how difficult it is to deal with the license and all the parties involved in the process.
The closest time you have come to see a GoldenEye 007 remake dates back to 2007, when the Rare was in charge of revitalizing the game with the intention of reaching Xbox Live Arcade. Much has been said about that project
Now that changes with the arrival of the video that you have below. Footage of the canceled remake for Xbox 360 that includes two hours of content in which you can see, in 4K y a 60 fps, both the full campaign and multiplayer.
The creator of the video assures that we will soon know more about this lost build and that it is very likely that it will end up reaching the public during this year, not necessarily by the hands of Rare
We’ll see what both the creators and the licensees have to say about all this, but at first it seems that one of the best kept secrets of recent generations will end up seeing the sunlight. I wish it had been 14 years ago in other conditions.
Then we leave you with the trailer of GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, the reimagining of Brosnan’s film that we do live hand in hand with Activision in 2010.
