Polyphony Digital remains true to the route and will again be releasing a monthly update for the racer Gran Turismo 7 in February. The focus is also – but not only – the new PlayStation VR 2.
In line with the release of the new virtual reality headset PlayStation VR 2 these days, the successful racing game Gran Turismo 7 is also being drilled out accordingly. The update for the second month of the still young year will be released tomorrow, February 21, and will include the VR mode, among other things. Anyone who buys a PSVR 2 will then also be able to race in virtual reality.
Thanks to the new version 1.29, which will be available for download from 7:00 a.m. German time, you will then be able to experience all races and game modes in VR, with the exception of the 2-player split-screen. You can also access an exclusive showroom via your garage or the in-game car dealers, where you can admire all ultra high definition vehicle models in different locations and with different lighting settings. HDR tone mapping, foveated rendering or dynamic 3D audio are other features on PSVR 2, which are then supported thanks to the patch.
But even far away from the VR part, the February update is more than just interesting. Gran Turismo Sophy is also on board on the PS5 in shared drive mode. Sophy is an AI racing agent created in collaboration between Sony AI, SIE and Polyphony Digital. Players of all skill levels will be able to go head-to-head against GT Sophy thanks to the new feature. The new special mode is initially limited from February 21st to the end of March. The feedback will then be evaluated to further improve GT Sophy for further future releases.
But still not enough! Furthermore, Grand Valley returns. The Gran Turismo classic can be enjoyed with a brand new look, complete with Highway 1 layout. It is a difficult course that combines high-speed sections and tight, technical corners.
And: Of course, five new cars should not be missing either, including the Honda RA272 ’65, the Italdesign EXENEO Vision Gran Turismo (road and off-road mode), the Citroen DS 21 Pallas ’70 and the Porsche 911 Carrera RS (901) ‘ 73
