Rockstar is cleaning up – the Rockstar Editor will soon be scrapped, at least on the old generation consoles. If you don’t want to lose your creations, you have to act now.
Rockstar once introduced the Rockstar Editor for GTA 5 and GTA Online, a tool with which you could record gameplay while gaming in order to make your own video clips and share them. Really nice with filters, music, texts and everything possible, including a director mode with which you could control the character models from the game.
Well, the days of the editor are coming to an end. As the studio announced, the Rockstar Editor will no longer be available in Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One starting February 20, 2024. The reasoning states: “This change is necessary so that we can support ongoing updates for these games on both platforms.”
This also means that all clips and projects created with it will also be deleted from this point onwards. So if you still want to back up your data, you have some work ahead of you because you have to export your clutter in time. One relevant instructions
The PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Rockstar Editor will continue to be available as usual.
