Hardly anyone is more nervous than GTA fans when it comes to the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI. The rumor mill is boiling and bubbling, but now there is an official all-clear.
Since Grand Theft Auto VI was announced and fall 2025 was set as the release date, gamers around the world have been sitting on their chairs like electric eels, fearing a delay.
There have been no concrete signs of this so far, but with a project of this magnitude, a possible delay is a constant threat. Even the recent strike by video game actors has not helped to allay the skepticism.
But maybe an official statement will help? In the latest financial report, Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive confirmed that the release of Grand Theft Auto VI is still planned for fall 2025 and nothing has changed.
“The Grand Theft Auto series has exceeded our expectations, and momentum continues to build ahead of the release of Grand Theft Auto VI in fall 2025,” the company wrote in a press release on Thursday.
At least as things stand, postponing the blockbuster is not an option at the moment. Of course, that doesn’t mean that something can’t still come up, such as the effects of the strike mentioned above. But at least nervous fans can now sleep a little more soundly, at least until the next financial report. What’s less nice is that GTA VI is only listed for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in the latest financial report. There is still no sign of a PC version.
It is also clear that the timing of GTA VI is also being watched with suspicion by the competition, because given the success of GTA V and the hype surrounding the new part, whose trailer has now received 204 million views on YouTube, no publisher wants to release their own products during the release period of this behemoth.
