Great news for the biggest fans

biggest, Fans, great, news

The Yu-Gi-Oh franchise has recently received a variety of announcements, including excellent news for the biggest anime fans.

This year actually marked the 20th anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh GX Duel Monsters in Japan, which began airing in the Land of the Rising Sun in 2004. The franchise therefore marked the occasion with a big announcement, but aimed at the moment only the Japanese public. However, it shouldn't be long before it reaches the rest of the world. Other new features that will be available for the license also took the opportunity to come to market.

A big announcement for Yu-Gi-Oh GX's 20th anniversary

While the card game becomes eligible for the Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection on February 27th and has no fewer than 14 video game adaptations on the schedule for its own anniversary, the anime GX recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. As a reminder, GX is a spin-off based on the original adventures of Yugi and his friends. We then talk about a duelist academy created by Seto Kaiba with new characters such as Jaden Yuki, Syrus Truesdale, Alexis Rhodes, Bastion Mizawa and Chazz Princeton.

Yu-Gi-Oh GX has a respectable total of 180 episodes, which aired in Japan between 2004 and 2008. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the franchise has just announced a new remastered version. This will be released in April 2025, probably in Japan first. However, it shouldn't be long before it arrives in the rest of the world soon, especially on specialized platforms like Crunchyroll here.

In addition to this big announcement, the franchise also took the opportunity to announce the monthly installment of a promotional anime for Konami's Yu-Gi-Oh Card Game: Chronicles. This will also be released on April 25th on the license's official YouTube channel, after a first draft was released earlier this year. So next year is going to be quite a busy one for Yu-Gi-Oh fans old and new.
