Great Road of Heroes delays its release

Shortly after admitting development issues, the video game Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes, adaptation of the anime Inazuma Eleven Ares, has again delayed its release date. Originally announced for Fall 2017, the title was set to debut definitively this year, though now has been delayed to 2021.

Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes restarted development

After restarting its development, Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes will bet on a completely original story, without relying on a previous anime. In this way, players will meet Unmei sasanami, the new protagonist of the game who one day meets by chance with his schoolmate and captain of the Mamoru Endou soccer team when a soccer ball hits him. Unmei, a follower of soccer players, will befriend Endou when he confesses that he wants to win the Football Frontier, the largest soccer tournament in Japan, so he will join his team, Raimon Jr High, as manager.

The players will meet the characters from the latest anime series reintegrated into this world and, while the circumstances of their appearances will be different, their personality and personal problems will be the same as always. In this way, it will be the first time that the three protagonists of Inazuma Eleven (Endou, Tenma and Asuto) coincide on the same timeline without it being disrupted. Depending on the game, these characters will be allies or enemies.

Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes will not focus on Ares (national league) or Orion (world league), but on the Football Frontier through a story that will present changes. For example, in an encounter with Hikaru Ichihoshi when he has problems, depending on the companion of Unmei, the development of the mission will vary. Endou is characterized by passionate persuasion, Asuto by an empath, and Haizaki by a repressive one.

Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes is coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2021. It is unknown if its version for mobile devices still stands.
