GTA 6 has been announced, but there is still no release date and Rockstar has not yet announced a price for the upcoming game. Nevertheless, fans are already worried about their own wallets.
On Reddit The user DaVoiceOfTruth shared a meme that illustrates the concern about scalpers. Scalpers are a well-known problem in a wide variety of areas.
If there are pre-orders or limited quantities of products, then you can assume that there are people who buy them and offer them at exorbitant prices on eBay and similar retailers. This is exactly what happened with the drives for the PS5 Pro after Sony announced that they would not be included with the new console.

Nintendo also wants to take measures before the Switch 2 is released to stop scalpers. In general, concerns about scalpers are anything but unfounded.
However, the concern with GTA 6 is only actually justified if Rockstar decides to publish a Collector's Edition in addition to an Ultimate Edition or something similar. Unlike a standard or ultimate edition, these are usually limited to a certain number of units.
Under the same Reddit post, user SplitOutside9081 provides a way to avoid Rockstar scalper purchases. This means the company could only sell one Collector's Edition per account. But this can also be avoided, even if the hurdle is a little higher.
You will probably only find out whether there is really a scalper problem with the upcoming game when it is released. As soon as there is a release date for GTA 6, you will find it in our game release list.
