It said, "You can trust me." When I dared to fumble my toes into a dark corner, I quickly tipped my toes and hid myself (I hope) in a pile of wet, forgotten boxes. It drunk from side to side, with shiny eyes in a dim room, and its head rotated at an unnatural angle as it scanned the space, heralding a slight flicker of motion.

"Come here," it added sweet music. "Don't hide."
I risked staring at the top and immediately regretted it: I was found. Screaming with joy, it fired at me, facing in two, revealing a frightening, pulsating void, chasing me, trying to attract me. Leap a lot, I'm panicking here-but it's not working. All right, I realized that there was nowhere to go, and the panic had intensified.
This is not the first time and I realize I am not sure what is going on. Play-Doh's colors and cartoon-like beauty make this world look sweet and naive, but-as I realized late-nothing else.
I am ashamed to say that I am a bit self-righteous. I was curious about browsing the game's bumf and screenshots, but I reached the "teenage" level due to ridicule. The trailer makes us think that this game is unique to Google ’s Stadia streaming service, it is a horrible game, and it is a scary thing for children. But the developer Tequila Works has done a lot of work for me.
The cute design and simple mechanism made me fall into a false sense of security. At first, even the enemy seemed to be no big deal. You will never mistake Gylt for P.T., but don't let it mislead you. Gilts have a tense atmosphere, eye-catching style and lofty scores, reminiscent of the work of Danny Elfman and Tim Burton, while Gilt is deeply The ground was disturbed.
You'll see groundbreaking psychological horror echoes of Silent Hill for most of the game, from the broken dead end road to the main character Sally's last name Kauffman. You'll spend a lot of time crawling around Bachman School-maybe to Stephen King, Silent Hill, or both? -Its walls are scratched and scratched by malicious insults and childish names. Sometimes, you stumble across one or two mannequins, some on your body, some not in the classroom, hallway, and toilet. The more you play, the more you will encounter. Eventually they everywhere.
Gelter's story is surprising. You follow Sally, a young girl trying to find her missing cousin Emily. After posting posters everywhere to keep Emily's name in the town's consciousness, Sally was chased by school bullies, forcing her bike off the road and into the ravine. When their mockery echoed around her, she grabbed the poster, dropped the neat bike on that car, and went home-only she would never be there.
Sally's nightmare is focused on a twisted fax from the school where she and Emily attended school, although sometimes you venture outdoors to other child-centric places, such as arcades or local art centers. The gameplay has not changed much. There are many functions: find keys between combat or stealth sequences, find valves, and reach vents. Here's a handy detector when you're trying to walk through desperately and don't dare look back. Sally can hide into many vents, usually leaving a silhouette when the enemy wakes up-the last time the enemy betrayed her.
On the surface, you can race based on the urge to move you best: fighting or running away. However, considering your weapon, it has long been difficult to offend-initially a flashlight, although you will buy a dual-purpose fire extinguisher later-battery-powered. Often, there are enough spare batteries and health supplements (discarded asthma inhalers) to keep you healthy, so progress is never-ending, but the nasty point of rebirth is frustrating.
In my notes, I wrote that Gylt is a horror game with confusing lightness, light combat power, and light fear-but I have to cross out the last point. Although not full of them, Gilt has some delicious jumpers that should make your heart beat faster, especially when the game subtly subverts what you have learned. Safe areas may not always be safe. Empty rooms may not always remain empty.
However, there is not much subtlety about Sally's nightmare world. It is full of symbolic meanings of childhood bullying not to be missed, as well as diary entries and notes of grass, convincingly telling about the life tortured by the bully. However, stay there long enough and the sound will change. The author of the diary talked about the "blood and gunpowder" monsters, which may imply a reality different from the monster inhabited by Sally. Another tells a heartbreaking story of a child trying to be friendly to attract friends to accept a recommendation from a kind adult: "I went to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I think I have a Nice smile … but it doesn't work because I can't stop crying. "Coins.
Although the bullying theme is resolved, other issues (such as the mysterious Stone Man or some of the more curious collectibles in the game) haven't expanded at all. Although the title Gylt hints at a special ending, the game's conclusions are both hurried and eclectic. Unfortunately, the last boss encounter was a lazy and frustrating affair, squeezed by all the influences due to the special camera angle and lack of proper guidance, which, like other stories, is linear and predictable.
As for how it works on Stadia? I admit: very surprised. In the absence of a connection but a decent connection (35 Mbps per second on a beautiful day), I experienced two intermittent situations, but there was nothing troublesome to avoid a hard crash. However, it does feel like there is a time lag between the movie that triggered the silent deletion and the movie that showed them, and it is often difficult to pop up the "A" button prompt when needed. The inventory is also strange. Although technically there is a highlighter, it is difficult to distinguish it from the beige items in your backpack, so you will never be completely sure what you choose.
While playing safely and predictably, tequila will carefully layer on new heads and mechanics as you progress on Gylt, allowing you to build your knowledge organically and start experimenting. It's these flashes of inspiration that make Gilt's gentle confusion so delightful, so it's frustrating that we don't see much more. Although hardcore horror fans don't have much here, don't be bothered by creepy scammers. Nervous Gilt is just for kids: actually not. However, if it's a short (if atmospheric) experience, it's a bit expensive.
