Hades 2the sequel to one of the best and most acclaimed roguelikes ever made, has already captivated PC players with its Early Access version and has become one of the most anticipated titles of the coming months.
Switch 2 Will Be the First Console to Receive Hades 2
We now know all the launch titles for the Nintendo Switch 2including Nintendo exclusives, enhanced Switch 2 editions, and third-party games. Not all of them will be available on June 5, 2025, though.

Some examples include Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergradeand Hades 2the latter being a timed console exclusive for Nintendo.
Supergiant Games has just confirmed that Hades 2 will debut first on Nintendo Switch 2following a similar release strategy as the original, which launched first on Nintendo Switch before arriving on other platforms.
This means that when Hades 2 is released, it will first be available on PC and Switch 2. For now, it’s unclear how long the timed exclusivity on Nintendo’s new console will last. Likewise, there’s no word yet on whether it will be ready for 2025 or pushed into 2026.
Melinoë Steps Up in a Magical New Story
Hades 2 is a roguelike that expands upon the original 2020 game while retaining its gameplay, artistic style, and iconic soundtrack. Supergiant Games has admitted that the idea of creating a sequel was daunting and filled them with respect—but they ultimately embraced the challenge.

The story follows MillingPrincess of the Underworld, as she faces off against the Titan of Time to rescue her father Hades and the other Olympian gods from Greek mythology.
To do so, she will receive training from Hecatea deity associated with witchcraft—introducing a key difference from its predecessor: this is a game more influenced by magic.
Technical Performance on Nintendo Switch 2
From a technical standpoint, the directors at Supergiant Games praised the Switch 2’s specifications as they aim to ensure optimal performance.
As a result, Hades 2 will run at 60 FPS on Nintendo Switch 2and also on the original Nintendo Switch, though with a higher resolution on the newer hybrid console.

It’s still unknown whether the game will receive a traditional physical edition for Switch 2 or follow the Game-Key Card trend seen with titles like Elden Ring, Street Fighter 6or the remaster of Bravely Default.
Nintendo and Supergiant Games stated that more news about Hades 2 will be shared in the coming monthsas the game still does not have a confirmed release date.
