Although the split screen collaboration has been cancelled Halo Infiniteplayers have found a way to let them do it anyway.
last week, 343 Industries A roadmap was provided for Halo Infinite, promising players that the Forge and Campaign partnership would launch in November. The only downside is that split-screen co-op was canceled in the process, apparently to the disappointment of some players hoping to spend their youth again. But due to the menu glitch, some players seem to have found some workarounds.
As spotted by Eurogamer, French Halo community Halo Creation shared a video showing a menu glitch that allows you to play the game in split-screen co-op. The community’s Twitter account shared a helpful breakdown video, discovered by Halo player Alexis B., along with all the steps you need to follow.
Essentially, it involves some quick actions by you, your Xbox Series X or S, and your friends online. Going through a few different options and hooking up another controller at the right time lets you play local split-screen co-op, and it apparently works with up to four people.
Now obviously, you might be thinking ‘if it works, why didn’t they put it in the game? Just because you can play with other players in split screen doesn’t mean it will work perfectly. Features like this can cost time and money, so please respect all developers making games as it’s out of their hands.
On the more positive side of the 343 Industries announcement, the November launch of Forge and campaign co-op is exciting for many players. The Forge lets you build custom maps, so there’s sure to be a lot of interesting creations, and being able to play the campaign online could still be a welcome addition to many.
