As promised, Electronic Arts and Criterion have unveiled a major gameplay trailer for the next Need for Speed Unbound. A promising arcade comeback?
NFS Unbound was made official last week, but until then it was a wasteland in terms of gameplay. The first trailer served more as a warm-up and surprising artistic reorientation.
Find the gameplay for Need for Speed Unbound
Even though tuning and street racing are back, Need for Speed Unbound stands out from the rest of the franchise. The developers of Criterion (Burnout) decided to mix photorealistic graphics with a cartoon touch. An approach that applies to both single player cutscenes playable offline and gameplay. For example, on drifts, the smoke coming out of the tailpipe is in a cell shade. A feature that is also being discussed among gamers, but rest assured it will become fully customizable or even disabled if you’re really not convinced of the added value of this type of effect.
The driving style of this Need for Speed Unbound looks very convincing. Not a simulation, but a more direct and “bestial” pleasure that smells like burnout arcade. It’s about 100 an hour with takedowns and other clashes on the side to get rid of the police.
This No Risk, No Rewards trailer highlights the risks players must take to earn rewards worth living up to. Depending on the time of day, we do not have access to the same things a priori. We can also bet on our competitors.
The game will be available on December 2nd, 2022 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC with one of the worst collectibles ever.
