Blizzard Entertainment continues to work on Hearthstone: Heroes of WarCraft! The long-running trading card is now getting its next big expansion with “Titans”.

Anyone who is longing for supplies in Hearthstone will of course be heard again by Blizzard, because the cult developer has not dropped the trading card game for a long time, even years after the original release. Instead, the next big expansion is now on the agenda with “Titans”.

Beginning August 1st, the eponymous titans will enter the title’s gameboards and bring their technologies to the game. This comes in the form of 145 new cards, including 11 Legendary Titan minions. There is also a new keyword, Smithing, and a returning keyword, Magnetic. The expansion is rounded off by a new twist on the classic mode.

As usual, there is a pre-purchase mega bundle containing 80 card packs, 5 golden card packs, 1 random distinctive legendary card, 1 random golden legendary card, the Inge death knight hero skin and card back, and 1 diamond legendary card Zilliax. The standard bundle contains 60 packs, 2 non-gold random Legendary cards, and the Inge card back.

The new game mechanics according to official information:

  • New minions – Titans: The pantheon of titans have shaped Azeroth with their technologies, and now it’s your turn! Each of the eleven Titans has one passive ability, as well as three additional abilities specific to the class they represent. Each turn you can play one of the abilities – the Titan can attack normally once all three have been used. Strategize to maximize your Titan’s impact!
  • New Keyword – Smithing: Cards with the Smithing keyword can be upgraded while in your hand. For the cost of two mana, you simply drag the card back into your deck. This counts as forging, and the card immediately returns to your hand with improved mechanics.
  • Returning Keyword – Magnetic: The popular Magnetic keyword, first introduced in the Dr. Boom’s Secret Lab returns to the meta. Now, cards with Magnetic no longer require board space to bind to others, allowing you to build a stronger deck combo.

Classic mode rework at a glance:

  • With Patch 26.6, Hearthstone will replace Classic mode with a new mode called The Hook. The Hook is a ranked mode in Hearthstone with regularly rotating seasons, each with a different hook in the rules. The hook formats can include selected card pools and special rule sets.
  • Beginning Season 1 comes New Age, a timeless format that includes the core set as well as all sets from Ashes of Outland onward. As new sets are added to the game, they will be added to the New Age pool and may return from time to time.
  • For this season there will also be a variant with special rules for the New Age format: neutral cards are not allowed. This allows you to relive the old maps, but with different eyes.
