Henry Cavill has had to endure a lot lately. First the collaboration with Netflix ends, which means that his much-praised role of Geralt of Rivia passes to Liam Hemsworth. Via Instagram Cavill also announced with regret that he will no longer be playing the Man of Steel, as creative director James Gunn wants to make a film with a young Superman.
But where there is shadow, there is also light: according to media reports, Cavill is to play a role and lead in a new Warhammer 40,000 Amazon series take over. With that, the 39-year-old Brit would probably play his way even deeper into the hearts of gamers and nerds.
By the way, the long-awaited next-gen update for The Witcher 3 was recently released:

What is known about the Warhammer 40K series
There is not much information about the planned series yet. However, well-informed entertainment publications like The Hollywood Reporter sure the show is coming and Cavill as the star and executive producer is on board. Warhammer owner Games Workshop confirmed however, Warhammer 40,000 was licensed to Amazon.
Accordingly, we can expect the series on Amazon Prime, should something unexpected happen. When is another matter. The series is probably only in pre-production, if at all.
It’s not too surprising that Warhammer 40,000 should finally get a series adaptation. Until now, films have either gone under the radar, been canceled or made by devoted fans. After the success of video games, most recently Darktide and Daemonhunters, combined with the recent triumph of many game adaptations, it seems obvious to pack the dark sci-fi setting into a series.

Warhammer Darktide Is Here: This Trailer Makes The Emperor Happy (And The Demon Sad)
Check out the latest game entry into the time-honored tabletop setting in the trailer above. Warhammer 40K: Darktide is a pitch-dark co-op shooter in the style of Vermintide 2, which would have thrilled us completely if the technical problems hadn’t been there at the time of release.
Incidentally, Warhammer 40K wants to continue its triumphant advance in the gaming world: Recently, impressive scenes from Space Marine 2 were shown for the first time and Rogue Trader, a genuine role-playing game from the Pathfinder makers, is coming up in the 40K world.
