- Samsung already mentions One UI 5.1 in a footnote on the Dutch website.
- This version will probably be presented with the S23 and should bring new options for the lock screen.
Along with Android 13, Samsung will soon be distributing its new One UI 5 user interface to the first cell phones as an update. The South Korean manufacturer recently gave an outlook on this and revealed new functions in a press release. A footnote in the Dutch version of this message now makes fans sit up and take notice. Because it probably reveals a first innovation of the upcoming top smartphone Galaxy S23.
As Samsung announces, One UI 5 should offer stronger personalization options. Among other things, you should be able to make the lock screen even more personal with a new menu. However, this feature should only be available with a subsequent update to One UI 5.1 in the footnote.
Version 5.1 could be presented together with the Galaxy S23. Samsung had already done something similar in previous years. In November 2021, the manufacturer released One UI 4.0 as an update for the S21. The Galaxy S22 with One UI 4.1 was released in February 2022.
However, it remains unclear which new personalization options Samsung will give you for the lock screen. The wallpaper, clock style and notifications options mentioned in the press release are already available in One UI 4.1. Samsung may be planning to let you create multiple lock screens with iOS 16, similar to Apple.
