Metal Gear dad Hideo Kojima has never really been humble. In an interview, however, he really hits the nail on the head when describing his new project without revealing any useful details.
If Hideo Kojima knows one thing, it’s marketing himself. After leaving Konami, he founded the studio Kojima Productions. The first work of the game company, which he modestly named after himself, was Death Stranding. Due to various teasers, there is now a lot of speculation on the internet as to what the man of a thousand glasses and his team could be up to next. Death Stranding 2, Elle Fanning and Norman Reedus. Somehow it’s all connected, but nobody seems to know exactly what’s going on now.

in one Interview mit The Guardian, which was held at the Kojima Productions premises, Kojima has now spoken a bit about his new project. But of course there was no concrete information about the game, rather he showered himself with self-praise. According to him, it is “almost a new medium”. He continues: “If that succeeds, it will change everything – not only in the games industry, but also for the film industry.”
Not exactly modest words that the good man finds there. However, he also has reservations, because his ambitions can only be implemented if a series of experiments are successful. From a commercial point of view, only the second or third person will make financial gains with something that someone before them had already introduced. But Kojima wanted to be the first, that had always been his claim.
Hideo Kojima’s statements in the interview don’t really get us any further. However, he had already made similar statements in the run-up to Death Stranding. Everyone can decide for themselves whether the parcel delivery game starring Norman Reedus really established its own genre.
