Hideo Kojima and Sony have announced that the legendary video game creator will be working on a new action spy game following the release of Death Stranding 2. This will mark the character’s first adventure since leaving Konami and the Metal Gear Solid series and the founding of Kojima Productions.
Kojima said the game will be a collaboration with Sony and “a game and a movie at the same time,” but details were scant. That’s it, he explained, by which he meant it would be like a movie “in terms of look, story, themes, actors, acting, fashion and sound.”

“Sony not only makes games, but also music and movies. This is definitely a strong collaboration,” Kojima said at State of Play. “In two years, I will celebrate the 40th anniversary of my game making career. I believe This game will be the pinnacle of my work.”
There’s no word yet on a release date, or when we can expect further news on the project. With Death Stranding 2 and OD in the works at Kojima Productions, it looks like it’ll be a while before we get Metal Gear Solid fans a new flavor of Kojima-style stealth action.
