Even before the release, Hogwarts Legacy broke all records. In particular, the number of viewers on streaming sites like Twitch went through the roof, which is otherwise only possible with multiplayer titles. As is well known, the magic school excursion lacks a co-op mode, the school desk is only pressed alone. Thanks to dedicated modders, however, this is changing.
Despite the controversy surrounding Harry Potter author JK Rowling’s anti-trans statements, Hogwarts Legacy remains hugely popular. In addition to immensely good sales figures, the title also surpassed the number of Steam users playing at the same time and was able to place itself in the top 5 of this category. And that before the actual release.

However, there is one feature that many fans are missing. Because Hogwarts Legacy is a pure single-player adventure. Going to school together is therefore not possible. That might not be a huge break in the leg, but a bunch of modders aren’t going to settle for that. The Together Team has already gained a lot of experience in this sector in the past, having already provided Bethesda’s cult role-playing game with an unintended multiplayer mode with Skyrim Together Reborn.
Not the entire team is working on HogWarp (that’s the name of the mod). Instead, so far only Yamashi is working on the multiplayer part for Hogwarts Legacy. According to him, the focus is currently on co-op and exploring the world together and the role-playing mechanics. Own content is currently not planned, but is conceivable for the future. Until then, however, the focus is on creating a stable framework.
So far, Yamashi has only released HogWarp for its Patreon supporters. No wonder, after all the game is less than a week old and the mod is still full of bugs. Once it reaches a stable state, it is intended to be open source and available to all fans. Of course, it will still take a while until then.
