Hogwarts Legacy has also been available for the last-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for a week, which is why only the Nintendo Switch is waiting for its implementation. However, if you want to gamble here, you have to cope with a severe setback, because the release is significantly delayed.
Actually, the makers had planned the switch implementation of the Hogwarts Legacy, which started so successfully, for July 25, 2023. It is the last planned implementation of the game, having previously served PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in February, and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One a week ago in May. However, the last plans are now unfortunately nothing!
Today the developers confirmed that the release on July 25th unfortunately cannot be kept. At the same time, it will not be a halfway short shift either; on the contrary, this already has a noticeable impact. Because: Hogwarts Legacy should not open on the switch until November 14, 2023 – and thus almost four months later.
Comparing the PS4 and PS5 versions, attentive fans noticed noticeable differences – and these raised questions as to whether the switch would be powerful enough to display the complex world of the game. On Reddit, for example, user Euden had already pointed out more drastic changes to the game between PS4 and PS5 – and these were necessary to reduce loading times on PS4 and enable reasonable frame rates.
It is quite possible that such adjustments on the switch are necessary on a larger scale and have now led to the postponement. The official confirmation only spoke of wanting to enable the best possible experience on the Nintendo console; that is the team’s top priority.
It remains to be hoped that Hogwarts Legacy can actually hit the switch and meet expectations.
