Hollow Knight: Silksong was announced four years ago. So far, the developers have skilfully held back with information, and a release date has not been announced either. No wonder that some fans are restless. But according to the Lead Playtester, it should definitely be worth the wait. Well if that’s the case.
In 2017, Team Cherry released Hollow Knight, a souls-like Metroidvania that many consider seminal for the genre. No wonder, with the almost perfectly designed and intertwined world, the challenging and rewarding combat system and the subtly built-in yet interesting story. The players are all the hotter for the successor announced in 2019, Hollow Knight: Silksong. But since the announcement that the title is in development, information has been scarce.

It’s worth the wait though, at least according to lead playtester Graig. He has now spoken up on the developer’s Discord server and is responding to the waiting fans. “I understand you all and I really want the game to be released as soon as possible. The testers are working hard to release it as is Team Cherry. It will be released and it’s a great game worth the wait. I love you all.”
Big and charming words that Graig finds here. Of course, that’s only small consolation, because the developers still owe us an appointment. It is a well-known fact that good things take time. According to current plans, Silksong will be released on PC, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. On Microsoft systems even in Game Pass. The last big news also confirmed a release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You can see the latest moving images from the Xbox Showcase 2022 below.
