Ever since its announcement in 2019, Hollow Knight Silksong has been more than discreet. Is Team Cherry planning a return of their long-awaited game this summer? It could be good.
What if this time was the right one? With every Nintendo Direct, Indie World, and major conference, the question remains the same: will we finally see Hollow Knight Silksong? The continuation of the Metroidvania is so desired at each event that its possible appearance is elevated to the rank of a meme. And yet, the independent game could finally show the tip of its nose next week.
Hollow Knight Silksong again next week?
We’re not yet allowed to toy with the fragile little heart of Hollow Knight fans. Geoff Keighley just gave them a new reason to hope for the game’s appearance at Summer Game Fest 2022. The creator and host of the event had gone there with his little teaser on social media, hoping to sell dreams to the players: ” There’s nothing quite like the feeling of having a great world premiere delivered to your inbox.
Nothing crazy so far, other than someone involved in the promotion of Hollow Knight Silksong throwing in their two cents. Matthew Griffin, the game’s marketing director, responded with a simple, ” I agree to this teaser ».
Finally a release date at Summer Game Fest?
A far from trivial tweet that hints at the presence of one of his projects during Summer Game Fest. The prospect is working on something crowsworn, but the title only ended its crowdfunding campaign less than a year ago. It seems unlikely that it’s ready to be shown just yet.
The other hypothesis remains the most tempting: the powerful comeback of Hollow Knight Silksong, whose development ended in January 2021. All of this remains pure speculation at this point, but it seems that we are not finished with our surprises for Summer Game Fest 2022. See you on June 9th at 8pm for the end of the story.
